F. Chebotarev Institute of Gerontology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" popup.description2 In the experiments conducted on males of Drosophila fruit flies, the effect of sequential application of bacterial lipopolysaccharide, curcumin, or short-term heat stress in the early stage and sodium alpha-ketoglutarate, acetylsalicylic acid, or sodium butyrate on the late stage of life cycle on life span was studied. Of all the combinations tested, the combination of bacterial lipopolysaccharide and sodium butyrate was the most effective. It is shown that development on a food substrate containing a natural immunostimulant of bacterial origin lipopolysaccharide E.coli is accompanied by prolongation of healthy period of insect life, improvement of motor activity and stress resistance of old individuals. Addition to the food environment of aging flies of an inhibitor of histone deacetylase sodium butyrate extends residual life expectancy. Consistent use of bacterial lipopolysaccharide in the early and sodium butyrate at the later stage of the life cycle prolongs the average life expectancy of Drosophila by 8%, and the maximum - by 9%. The results obtained indicate the possibility of creating an effective means of prolonging life in the form of a complex with consistent alternation of components used in the optimal age period.  Product Description popup.authors Migovan Svitlana A Rushkevych Yuriy Ye popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
