 Selection and separation of coal samples from coalbed n8 (Mezhirichanskiy) of mine "Velikomostivska" were done. With the help of a complex method using chromatography, investigation of the propensity of specified coal bed to spontaneous combustion was carried out. It is established that in the investigated section of mine field coal is not dangerous for spontaneous combustion. Based on the results of the performed work, recommendations were made and transferred to the mines.
