A detailed analysis of modern approaches to the assessment and forecasting of stands’ growth and updating of biometric indices in the frame of continuous forest management planning has been carried out. Dynamic site index scales and yield tables for modal stands have been developed. On the basis of the created reference information, a unified mathematical model was developed and its coefficients were obtained for forecasting biometric indicators while updating stand level databases during continuous forest management planning in the context of the investigated tree species, their origin and composition. A new forecasting technique based on the use of growth rate standards for modal stands is proposed and the IA “Ukrderzhlisproekt” database is used as of 01.01.2011 for the main forest-forming tree species of Ukraine.
