The object of the study is the professional activity of the head of the territorial police unit. The subject of the study is the professional chart of the professional activity of the head of the territorial police protection unit, the features of his professional activity and his professionally important qualities. Research methods are chosen based on the identified goals and objectives, taking into account its object and subject. To solve these tasks, it is advisable to use a set of complementary methods: theoretical - to find out the theoretical aspects of the activities of police officers engaged in analytical activities in the National Police of Ukraine, empirical - to study the features of service activities, practical approbation of measures to improve the recruitment system; establishment of efficiency of the performed work and statistical - for processing of results of experimental researches, establishment of quantitative dependencies between the studied indicators and providing analysis and verification of empirical data. Results obtained: methodological recommendations on the development of a professional chart and profile of the profession of the head of the territorial police police unit were prepared. The materials contain the developed professional chart and profile of the head of the territorial police unit and the empirical results of psychological testing of the employees, which became the basis for writing this work. The available material takes into account the organizational and legislative changes that have taken place in the process of law enforcement reform, contains recommendations that can be applied by practicing psychologists and police commission specialists in the selection and certification of police security personnel.
