The object of the study is the facts of violence in the student environment. The subject of the study is the psychological and legal prevention of violence in the student environment. Research methods are chosen based on the identified goals and objectives, taking into account its object and subject. To solve these problems, a set of complementary methods was applied: theoretical: analysis, synthesis, comparison, modeling, generalization, systematization, study and analysis of literature on the problem of research and the legal framework of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine - with them the theoretical approaches and substantiated legal principles were studied. comprehensive prevention of violence in the student environment; empirical: questionnaire, psychodiagnostic techniques, expert assessments, semi-standardized individual interviews (to study the characteristics and conditions of the student environment, practical approbation of measures to improve the system of prevention of violence in student groups; establishing the efficiency of the work done); statistical (correlation analysis, analysis of reliability of differences of mean values on the basis of Student's t-test) - for processing of results of experimental researches, establishment of quantitative dependences between the studied indicators. Obtained results: methodological recommendations were prepared in which the peculiarities of the manifestation of violence and bullying in the student environment, its consequences and the legal support for the protection of children were highlighted. Means of psychodiagnosis of propensity for violent behavior are outlined and legal and psychological means of prevention of violence in the student environment are defined.
