 Object of research: separate populations of animals of different systematic groups (insects, amphibians, reptiles, mammals) that exist under the toxic influence of chemical contaminants in natural and artificial ecosystems. Aim of the study: to find out the effect of heavy metal ions on specific components of the cytoskeleton in glial cells of experimental animals. Theoretical and practical results, novelty: experimental models were created to determine the toxic effects of heavy metal ions on organisms of different animal groups and animal cells in culture; molecular disturbances as mechanisms of heavy metal ions actions are defined. Scope (field) of use: environmental protection.
