As a result of the R & D, a “Scientific substantiation” was developed, which assessed the influence of other coal seams on the parameters of rock pressure in l3- “Mazurka” reservoir formations, explored the formation of drift formations, suggested the causes and processes of the roof collapse, and also hypotheses explaining the reasons for the weakening of the strength properties of rocks. Also presented is the “Conclusion”, which indicates the processes occurring in the mountain massif and led to the collapse of the roof rocks of the l3 seam - “Mazurka”, recommendations on the method of further operations. The application of this "Scientific justification" and "Conclusion" in industrial conditions will allow to secure mining operations, as well as to ensure trouble-free operation of the mine, which will give a positive economic, environmental and social effect.
