Helicopter Mi-8MSB-V is the developing of PAT Motor Sich (openly held Joint Stock Company), an upgraded version of a serial production helicopter Mi-8T and is designed to perform air transport, training, search and rescue, fire support missions, as well as to conduct air reconnaissance (surveillance). The study objectives: 1) to determine the possibility and safe use of Mi-8MSB-V helicopter’s unguided air missiles (UAM) type C-13 launched from B13L (B13L1) missile carrier unit; 2) to develop the draft for tactical and technical requirements for the Mi-8MSB-B helicopter (in terms of C-13 use); 3) to assess the engine stability of the TV3-117VMA-SBM1V 4E series when firing unguided air missiles type C-13; 4) to elaborate proposals on possible variants of combat loading of the helicopter when firing unguided air missiles C-13 from B13L (B13L1) missile carrier units; 5) to evaluate the effectiveness of using the unguided air missiles C-13 from Mi-8MSB-V. Research methods - system analysis and synthesis, natural experiment, comparative evaluation. In the course of the work, the analysis of the current state and prospects of the development of unguided air missile weapon system was performed in general, the tactical and technical requirements for the Mi-8MSB-V helicopter (in terms of use the UAM C-13) were substantiated, and theoretical and experimental studies were carried out. The proposals on follow-up works regarding the expanding of the range of unguided air missiles of helicopter Mi-8MSB-V in the interest of Armed Forces of Ukraine were made. At the time of completion of writing this report on research work, the results of the research tests of helicopter Mi-8MSB-V, equipped with UAM type C-13 in the version of 2xB13L had been counted as part of the special tests according to the to the Joint Decision of the МD of Ukraine and PAT "Motor Sich" of 23.10.2017 No.17761.
