The purpose of the research work is to develop and implement a modern accounting system of biodiversity of Ukraine integrated with museum collections and information resources for monitoring of state and evaluation of transforming processes in nature biological systems. Improved information resource Data Centre “Biodiversity of Ukraine” (DCBU) <http://dc.smnh.org/> allows you to downloads digital photos of specimens and assigning records of collections specimens of QR-codes, to carry out scientific and museum collections work and automated inventory / accounting of museum collections in State Museum of Natural History, NASU (SMNH) at the modern level. The existing system of accounting of museum collections in SMNH requires improvement in accordance with the Order of Ministry of Culture of Ukraine (9.09.2016, №784). The algorithm of the process of digitization of the specimens consists of three stages: 1) preparation of the specimen for digitization; 2) digitization of specimen; 3) post-digitization procedures. The system of accounting for museum collection specimens and QR-codes has been developed and is testing on different types of collections in SMNH, demonstrates positive practical results and after extending of all groups of museum collections and comprehensive testing can be implemented as a unified accounting system for collection specimens in institution. Software code of information resource DCBU can be used for scientific and museum collection work in other museums of natural profile.
