The purpose of the work is the creation of new generation of gamma-ray gas detectors of the next generation filled with high-purity xenon, with extended life and wide radiation and temperature ranges of operation intended for long-term and reliable use as part of nuclear power equipment. To study the electrophysical and radiation characteristics of the detectors in the proportional mode, the cylindrical shape detector prototypes with an anode in the form of a thin filament located in the center of a thin-walled tube were made. The detectors were filled with pure inert gas xenon or gas mixtures Xe+0.25%H2 and Xe+2.08%CH4 at different pressures. The spectrometric channel was developed and manufactured. The amplitude distributions of the detector signal in the proportional mode and its counting characteristics were measured. The measurements of the amplitude distributions of the input signal of the cylindrical detector at a pressure of 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 kPa pure Xe and the gas mixture Xe+2.08%CH4 were carried out. The energy difference and the gas gain were calculated. The obtained results allow us to propose a systematic approach to the design and manufacture of domestic modern gas detector ionizing radiation with both counting and spectrometric properties.
