(protection No. 427) in the Pomoryany of Zolochiv district of Lviv region Object of study: a monument of architecture of national importance (security No. 427) - castle-palace of the XVI-XVII ct. in the village. Pomoryany of Zolochiv district of Lviv region. Purpose: to establish the presence of traces and remains of archaeological heritage sites at the site of excavation of the area around the castle (laying of tracks, construction of pavilions, arbors and other structures, reconstruction of earth bastions, tracing of the foundations of towers and the west wing of the castle). Research methods: processing of available archival and bibliographic materials; roughing (trenches) in the locations of the corner towers and hypothetical castle bastions. On the territory of the complex in the town Pomoryany has two exploratory trenches at the location of the corner towers on the southwest and southeast sides of the castle. From the southeast side it was possible to fix the foundation of an octagonal tower, an earthen projection at its foot up to 10 m wide and 2 m high, as well as a 1.7 m deep contour. At the place of the southwest square tower the foundations of a later structure were erected. Nineteenth century. The remains of the old masonry were found at a depth of 2.2 m. In both places no traces of the classic pentagonal bastions that should have surrounded the towers were found during the studies. Proposals have been prepared for the customer to correct the project for the reconstruction of the castle in the part of the restoration of earthen bastions, which, according to the available archaeological data, never existed.
