The purpose of the work is to develop methodological recommendations for determining the cost of machinery, equipment, raw materials and consumer goods, taking into account the retrospective assessment in the conduct of forensic expertise. Research Methods and Apparatus - The development of methodological recommendations used a set of research methods of modern cognition theory: general scientific, separate, special methods, the functions of which are performed by the methods of expert research, using computer tools and appropriate programs. Theoretical and practical results: Expert practice in determining the cost of machinery, equipment, raw materials and consumer goods is analyzed, taking into account retrospective evaluation; the methodology of its determination using a comparative approach by sending requests to enterprises and using adjustment indices; the algorithm for carrying out base price adjustments has been updated; improved procedure for comparative analysis in determining the market value of machinery, equipment, raw materials and consumer goods, taking into account retrospective evaluation; the costing procedure for the cost methodical approach has been updated using the substitution method and the reproduction method. Novelty - Methodological recommendations for determining the cost of machinery, equipment, raw materials and consumer goods were developed for the first time, taking into account the retrospective evaluation of forensic examinations. At the present stage, expert practice does not fully meet the needs of the judicial and investigative bodies in solving this problematic issue.
