It has been found that mainly selective hydrogenation of the C=N bond in an imine molecule containing two double bonds (C=C and C=N) precedes over the iridium nanoparticles deposited on carbon nitride. It has been shown that the composites of nanosized 3d metals and their oxides with graphene-like carbon nanoparticles exhibit catalytic activity in the hydrogenation of furfural, α-pinene and limonene.
