It was found that the surface modification of ring samples from Zr-l% Nb alloy in oxygen- and nitrogen-containing media affects the surface hardness, the hardness distribution in the near-surface layer and the size of the hardened zone. It is shown that according to X-ray phase analysis of the surface of the samples, treatment under different modes leads to a change in the intensity of reflexes.
