The effect of active components and modifying additives of Mg-Al-oxide (hydrotalcite derivatives modified with cerium compounds) and Ca-phosphate hydroxyapatite (modified with cations of Mg, Sr, La and Ce) systems as catalysts for vapor-phase condensation of C2,4-alcohols with elongation of the carbon chain on their activity, selectivity to the formation of 1-butanol and 2-ethyl-1-hexanol has been found. The influence of the active components of Mg-Al-oxide systems, also modified with cerium compounds, on their acid-base properties, which determine their catalytic activity, selectivity and productivity in the target processes of obtaining C4,8-alcohols from ethanol has been shown.
