With the participation of synthesized nanomaterials, the regularities of a number of photocatalytic reactions were established: obtaining molecular hydrogen from aqueous solutions of electron-donating substrates of different nature (hydrazine and its derivatives, lower alcohols, organic acids), gas-phase partial oxidation of alcohols, photoelectrocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide, etc. Nanostructures based on particles of exfoliated carbon nitride and gold nanocrystals were obtained, in which the position of the maximum of the surface plasmon resonance band in the relatively wide range of 520–610 nm can be adjusted by changing the synthesis conditions without strongly influencing the morphology of Au nanocrystals. A new method for the synthesis and stabilization of water-soluble and luminescent ultra-small quantum dots of cadmium chalcogenides - individual and doped with copper and silver, a comprehensive study of their structural, spectral and photoluminescent properties. It is shown that a wide emission band in such nanoobjects can be described by a model of a self-captured exciton, which assumes the participation of nanocrystal phonons in the radiative relaxation of electron excitation.
