The purpose of the work is to expand the range of finished products in terms of using a narrow size of workpieces (wire) by artificial and adjustable influence on the expansion of the metal during deformation, as well as the development of practical recommendations for processing and calibration of work rolls with a minimum number of passes. Research method - physical modeling of various schemes of stress-strain metal state, experimental research. Theoretical and practical results - based on the analysis of the stress-strain state of the metal at the initial stage of its deformation in the manufacture of flattened strips, conditions are identified that minimize the displacement of the metal in the longitudinal direction and thus increase its expansion. Recommendations for the manufacture of carbon steels flattened strips in to the cold state have been developed. Novelty - new methods and technology of flattened tapes production are developed, providing expansion of ready profiles assortment and minimization of production costs. Requirements to the profile of accelerating calibers and sequence of rolling in accelerating calibers and rolls with a cylindrical barrel are defined.
