Тhe purpose: study of the theoretical discourse of the social protection system, disclosure of forms, levels and mechanisms of regulation of socio-economic policy of the state, as well as substantiation of strategic directions of reforming the social protection system of Ukraine in the context of leveling social asymmetries and ensuring development in the context of post-conflict reconstruction. Research methods: system approach, dialectical method, analysis and synthesis, abstract and logical method, comparing economic analysis, method of plots. Results: the economic content of the category " population’s social protection" and the principles and functions of social protection in a transitional economy are determined; the institutional structure of the system of " population’s social protection is investigated; the conceptual bases of complex reforming of the domestic system of population’s social protection in the conditions of the European integration course of national economic strategy are substantiated; measures, tools and mechanisms for improving the current system of protection of socially vulnerable categories of the population of Ukraine are substantiated; the key mechanisms of ensuring dynamic economic growth in Ukraine in the context of formation of basic conditions of public welfare, definition of a variety of conflicts in the field of social protection of vulnerable groups are substantiated. Novelty: systematization and generalization of theoretical and methodological principles of socio-economic policy of the state and development of practical recommendations for its improvement in post-conflict recovery. The effectiveness: the use of research results will contribute to the development of socio-economic policy of the state in the post-conflict recovery.
