Poljakov of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  As a result of the work, a technique was developed for experimental studies of the granulometric and mineralogical composition of inert hydrophobic dust using an MP-2 polarizing microscope; a computer program that allows automatic determination of the granulometric characteristics of fine dust particles. The mineral and granulometric composition of fine hydrophobic inert dust for the enterprise "SPP" LLC was investigated and it was found that the analyzed samples of inert hydrophobic dust fully satisfy the requirements of the "Safety Rules in Coal Mines". Implementation results - the work performed allows increasing the safety of mining operations, contributes to the prevention and suppression of coal dust explosions, extinguishing fires in the mine workings of coal mines, which is of great socio-economic importance.
