The subject of the research is semantics and stylistic features of the murals of the Peter Mohyla epoch and wall-painting system’s characteristics of the 40-ies of the 17th century. The aim of the work is to present the monument on the background of Ukrainian art of the first half of the 17th century and in the context of post-Byzantine painting; to characterize the monumental ensemble of the church; to consider the embodiment of art synthesis principles.The methods of the research are general scientific, in particular, those that include analysis and synthesis, comparison, generalization; specifically scientific, in particular, historical-comparative, historical-genetic, historical-systemic, descriptive, method of typology; special art historical methods of formal iconographic and comparative stylistic analysis and iconological interpretation.The monumental ensemble of the church has been characterized in terms of its compliance with the tradition of Byzantine art of the post-iconoclast era. The key compositions of theological program of the ensemble have been revealed and their location in the system of murals has been marked. Semantics of the key compositions and images has been revealed. Stylistic analysis of the frescoes has been carried out, typological features of the murals have been revealed. The results of research work can be used in the scientific, expositional, museum and educational work of the Preserve.Provisions for obtaining the report are contract-oriented.
