The purpose of the work is ecological substantiation of the use of non-metallic raw materials of Ukraine as sorption material by studying the process of chemical activation of slag and its dependence on the nature of sorbate and studying physicochemical patterns of metal processing to further improve and optimize these technologies. Research methods - X-ray phase analysis, electron-probe microanalysis, spectrophotometric analysis, calculation and analytical analysis, rotating disk electrode method (RES), chemical deposition, potentiometry method in pulse and galvanostatic modes. Results and their novelty: The sorption properties of metallurgical slag for the production of ferroalloys are considered. Its elemental and mineralogical composition has been experimentally determined. It is shown that the main mineral is diopside, which has a layered structure. The slag contains an amorphous phase. The absence of desorption from slag of toxic components is proved. The use of acid-activated slag as a sorbent of compounds of organic origin is recommended. The value of the sorption capacity of slag in relation to various organic dyes is established. Physicochemical regularities of dissolution of L-62 alloy in concentrated chloride solutions have been established. Eact values ​​indicate a diffusion limitation of the process of dissolving the L-62 alloy in FeCl3 solutions. The change in the nature of the slowing down stage of ionization of the L-62 alloy with increasing temperature is shown and it is proved that the reason is the change in the selectivity coefficients Z of the dissolution of the alloy components. The removal of the kinetic limitations of the dissolution of brass is associated with the facilitation of ionization of the copper component of the alloy.
