Using the method of optical emission spectroscopy, the existence of fast electrons in the bulk of the plasma-optical filter is shown when a negative potential is applied to its central electrode. The synthesis of titanium dioxide layers has been experimentally investigated using a repetitively pulsed mode of operation of an optimized vacuum arc source assembly - a plasma-optical filter in a hollow cathode mode.
