Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2 The object of the study – are characteristics of the electromagnetic field scatter-ing by complex shape objects. The purpose of the work - is to create new and improve the existing methods of numerical simulation of impulse wave scattering, in particular waves of the radar range, on objects of complex shape. Research Methods - for the calculation of wave scattering on a complex shape object the SBR (Shooting and Bouncing Rays) method is used in conjunction with the methods of physical and geometrical optics for monochromatic and pulsed fields. Results: the existing methods of calculating the electromagnetic waves diffraction on complex shape objects are considered. Their advantages and disad-vantages are shown, the necessity of development of new methods of calculation of diffraction of waves on complex shape objects is confirmed. The application of the FDTD method for the analysis of electromagnetic wave diffraction on complex shape objects, in particular on objects whose size is large compared to the wavelength, and on objects with complex geometry, is considered. A computer program was devel-oped to analyze the diffraction of impulse signals on an azimuthal periodic lattice lo-cated in the cross-section of an empty dielectric waveguide, and analyze the physical effects of such diffraction on different lattice structures. The model of wave scatter-ing on a complex shape object that created in the previous stage was improved. A model of wave scattering on a complex shape object is built. The surface of a complex shape object is divided into small elements - facets. The scattered field from each facet is calculated separately, the interaction between different facets is not tak-en into account. To calculate the field scattered by each facet, an analogue of the 6 method of physical optics, adapted for use in the time domain, should be used. The scattered field is calculated as the integral of the surface current, and the surface cur-rent is determined by the incide Product Description popup.authors Butrym Olexander Yu.
