The purpose of the work is to develop recommendations with conclusions on the forecast of sudden methane breakthroughs from the soil of mine workings in the conditions of the mine of PJSC «Management of the mine «POKROVSKE». Research methods – generalization and analysis of results, methods mat. statistics, calculations by standard methods. As a result of the work, the mining and geological characteristics of the coal seam and rocks contained in the areas of root lava mining, 2 lavas of the southern panel of block 10, 8 of the northern "bis" lava of block 10 of PJSC «Management of the mine «POKROVSKE» were analyzed. The conclusion on the forecast of danger of sudden methane breakthroughs from the soil of root lava workings, 2 lavas of the southern panel of block 10, 8 of the northern "bis" lava of block 10 of PJSC «Management of the mine «POKROVSKE» is issued.
