The purpose of the work is to develop a method of using potentiometric sensors to monitor the content of organic pollutants in aquatic environments and recommendations for improving the rapid detection of nitrogen-containing pollutants in the environment. Research methods - direct potentiometry and spectrophotometry. The interaction reactions of benzethonium chloride with 12-molybdophosphate heteropolyacid were investigated and intermediate ionic associates were obtained, which were used to develop a potentiometric sensor. A potentiometric sensor reversible to benzethonium chloride has been developed and the dependences of the electrochemical functions of the sensor on various factors have been determined. The determining factors influencing the electrode characteristics of the sensors developed at this final stage and at the previous intermediate stages of operation are identified and the optimal conditions for their use in the analysis of real objects are selected. Proposed: recommendations for improving the rapid detection of nitrogen-containing pollutants in the environment, as well as new easy to perform, sensitive and express techniques: the use of potentiometric sensors to monitor the content of organic pollutants in aquatic environments; potentiometric determination of the quantitative content of benzethonium chloride in industrial products. The potentiometric techniques developed at this final stage and at the previous intermediate stages of work with the use of membrane sensors on real objects have been tested.
