The object of research is the system of career promotion of servicemen, based on the rating principle of candidate selection. The purpose of the work is to justify the criteria for assessing the effectiveness of the rating system for the career promotion of servicemen with the involvement of commissions for the selection of candidates for appointment. The results of the research: 1. The efficiency of the functioning of the system of career promotion of servicemen is studied based on the rating principle of selection of candidates and recommendations on the increase of efficiency of its functioning are presented. 2. New versions of structured forms are developed and proposed for implementation in the work of personnel services, namely the following forms have been designed: "Evaluation card of the serviceman", a variant of the auxiliary form of evaluation of the officer "Form of evaluation of the candidate during the interview and a new structure of the automated database "Additional database for a serviceman" describing the procedure for the determination of the rating of a serviceman using the information-analytical system "Personnel". New criteria, approaches and procedures for evaluating the service activities of a serviceman are proposed. 3. The recommendations and results, obtained in the research work, can be used to improve the system of personnel work and educational process in military institutions of higher education, military administration bodies, military units (subdivisions) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as during the development of the project Methodological recommendations on the procedure for the determination of the rating of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
