The aim of the work is to determine the level of economic value of competitive test lines, derivation of varieties adapted to climate change for transfer to scientific and technical qualification examination, creation, evaluation and breeding of source material at all stages of breeding process, development of soft spring wheat variety model under environmental conditions of the Forest-Steppe part of Ukraine and optimization of breeding methodology. Research methods - field, laboratory, mathematical and statistical. A new source material (561 intraspecific and interspecific combination of crosses ) was created, and the study and selection of perspective forms, samples and lines at all stages of the breeding process were carried out. The assessment of grain qualites and resistance to major diseases on natural and artificial infectious backgrounds of pathogens for the lines of competitive testing, drought resistance of the lines was determined. Spring wheat lines have been identified that significantly exceed the standard in terms of yield and have a complex of positive traits, of which lines have been identified - candidates for transfer to state variety testing: Lutescens 14-48 and Erythrospermum 15-36 and selected lines for transfer to the National Center for Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine. The methodology of breeding of soft spring wheat has been optimized: selection criteria for breeding of soft spring wheat have been established. A model has been developed for a variety of short-height and medium-height of soft spring wheat varieties based on plants Oksamyt myronivskyi and Dubravka under environmental conditions of of the Forest-Steppe part of Ukraine.
