The purpose of the work - to study the initiation of underwater discharge by a thin-layer conductor, which was used as a fishing line with an external copper coating. Research methods - analysis, physical modeling, statistical processing of results. Experimental studies of the initiation of an electric discharge in a liquid by a thin-layer conductor, which was used as a fishing line with an external copper coating. To do this, an experimental technique was developed to investigate the influence of fishing line characteristics (diameter and length) on the amplitude of the generated pressure wave at different parameters of the discharge circuit and the resistance of copper-coated fishing line to factors arising from electric discharge in liquid. The obtained results allowed us to conclude that the use of fishing line with a thin outer layer is a promising method of initiating underwater electric discharge, as it reduces the pre-breakdown time and energy loss, thereby increasing the efficiency of electric discharge impact.
