The purpose of the work is to develop methods for assessing the adaptability of wheat breeding material in the conditions of climate change and to submit winter wheat varieties to the UIPVE qualification examination. Research methods: general scientific – analysis, synthesis; special – field; laboratory and statistical. Results. There were developed methods for assessing the adaptability of wheat breeding material in conditions of climate change in terms of frost resistance and winter hardiness, drought tolerance and heat resistance, resistance to the main pathogens, yield, grain quality indicators. 3125 hybrid combinations were created, 5090 selection lines of control nursery, 918 lines of preliminary testing, 301 lines of competitive testing were studied. 16 varieties of winter bread wheat and one variety of durum wheat were submitted to the UIPVE qualification examination, ten varieties of which have been put on the State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Dissemination in Ukraine and six varieties are continuing the qualification examination. Two varieties are planned to be submittred in 2021. 27 samples were submitted to the NCPGRU of PPI nd. a. V. Ya. Yuriev NAAS for registration by breeding and valuable traits.
