The fractional composition of oxide microspheres was determined by sieve analysis. It is shown that the fraction -60 + 40 has the highest content (30.1%), and the fraction +300 has the lowest content (7.6%). The dependence of the phase and chemical composition of microspheres on the size of the fraction of its particles is established. Microstructural analysis showed that the microspheres are fields of balls, with thin walls, hollow in the middle. It is shown that with increasing size of oxide microspheres, the content of low-melting amorphous borosilicate phase decreases, the content of which will determine the operating temperature of thermal protection made of oxide microspheres.
