It has been shown that the optimal synthesis conditions of Y2O3 powder precursor by high energy ball milling are: milling disc rotation speed of 140 rpm, milling time of 15-24 hours. The nanopowders obtained at such a condition is characterized by average particle size from 0.4-0.5 m range and agglomeration degree of 6.6-8.3. The optimal synthesis conditions of Y2O3–MgO powder precursor by high-temperature self-propagating synthesis by variation of organic fuels have been determined. It has been shown that using of glycine as complexing agent allows to obtain minimal content of adsorbed carbonate impurities due to higher combustion temperature of process.
