The purpose of the project is to create theoretical provisions, methodological bases and practical means for restoring the effective functioning of morally (models of the seventies of the last century) and / or physically (operated on the verge of service life) obsolete structures of freight cars, of which more than 70% domestic freight fleet. Research methods - methods of theory of development of technical systems and solution of inventive problems; methods of computer-mathematical modeling; finite element method; research methods of modern vehicles; methods for determining the strength of machines. The following scientific and practical results were obtained: Possibilities for restoration of effective functioning of obsolete samples of freight cars of the domestic park are determined. Adequate spatial computer calculation models of typical designs of freight cars of the national park with nominal parameters have been developed. The optimal number of grid elements is determined. A high-precision computational model of the three-element design of a freight carriage has been developed, which allows for more in-depth studies of the stress-strain state of a freight carriage, taking into account improvements, various load blocks for already formed and promising tasks. The simulations and analysis of normative and normative cases of functioning of different types of constructions of freight cars of domestic park with nominal parameters allowed to determine the maximum values of their functioning indicators: acceleration, equivalent stresses, displacement in knots, deformations.
