It has been established that among coniferous stands in the Ukrainian Carpathians, spruce plantations absorb the most carbon (30.7 million tons) and produce oxygen (64.5 million tons). It was found that due to the death of coniferous plantations in the Ukrainian Carpathians, the carbon-absorbing and oxygen-forming capacity of coniferous plantations decreases by 0.01% annually.
