The purpose of the study is to study and develop guidelines for the formation of innovative infrastructure, including housing, transport and pedestrian, landscape and recreation, as the main components of sustainable development of the modern metropolis. Research methods - research is based on ecological, environmental, systemic approaches. In the course of the research the methods of architectural and town-planning analysis, genetic analysis, typological analysis, field surveys, comparative analysis, etc. were applied. Degree of implementation: the results of research into the theory and practice of architectural and urban design. Relationship with other disciplines: this work is interdisciplinary and related to innovative architecture, urban ecology and the development of new technologies in architecture and urban planning. Recommendations for the use of research results: introduction into the development of projects of detailed planning of master plans of cities and their centers, for dissertation research of architectural and urban planning nature, as well as for scientific research on this topic. Scope: architecture and urban planning. Significance of work and conclusions: on the basis of system and environmental approaches in the work the basic perspective tendencies of formation of innovative infrastructure of sustainable development of the modern metropolis taking into account the ecological approach are stated and defined. Response recommendations have been developed. The results and methods of research are introduced in students' course projects, professional publications and conference abstracts, preparation of dissertation research.
