Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2 The project is devoted to synthesis and investigations of new effective fluorescent indicators for the estimation of β-glucosidase activity. The future new indicators will be 3-glucosides of aryl and heterocyclic chromone derivatives (flavonols and hetarylchromones). The spectral effect of the new indicators is based on the phototautomerization reaction of chromones in the excited state, which leads to the formation of a tautomer emitting in the long-wavelength range with a high quantum yield of fluorescence. The phototautomers emit in the long-wavelength spectral range; therefore, the fluorescence of new indicators should be less sensitive to light absorption and scattering than that of existing indicators, and therefore new compounds are more suitable for the study of biological objects.
