The results were developed: a methodology for expanding genetic diversity by biochemical indicators using induced mutagenesis was developed and patterns of inheritance of individual fatty acids were established. A way to overcome self-containingness in cross-repossession plants has been developed. Flax variety Linsan (food direction) created by chemical mutagenesis from the variety Sunny (Belarus), followed by selection by biochemical and economic and valuable indicators. High yield variety, with modified content of linolenic (3.01%), linoleic (72.32%) and oleic (16.9%) acids, with distinctive marker features – white flower color and spotted seeds (yellow brown). Sustainable and technological. The practical value of the results is that the introduction of a new high-yielding variety of flax with food biochemical indicators of oil and the duration of the growing season will provide an opportunity to increase the growing area under this crop, reduce production losses and thereby increase the profitability of the production of flaxseed oil suitable for food use. Introduction of a distinctive morphological marker trait into the genotype will contribute to better the conduct of seed production and protection of breeder's rights. Expanding the theoretical base of obtaining the source material with different ratios of fatty acids and the duration of the growing season will increase the efficiency of breeding work with flax oilseeds.
