A new variety of sainfoin Krasen with high potential of seed and fodder mass productivity for arid climatic conditions of the south-eastern region of Ukraine was created and submitted for state variety testing. In 2020, the yield of seeds and green mass was obtained - 0.86 t / ha and 29.40 t / ha, respectively, which exceeds these indicators on crops of the original population by 0.15 t / ha and 4.84 t / ha. Introduction of the developed methods of increase of seed productivity with application of a method of selection of selection material on adaptive potential expressed by intensity of development of root system at initial stages of development of plants in arid conditions of the eastern part of northern steppe of Ukraine allows to receive increase of a crop of 0,195 t / hectare.
