The histograms of color distribution of areas of sunflower seeds in RGB color space at different illumination are established. As a result of the analysis of the received histograms of distribution of colors of areas of seeds of sunflower in RGB color space it is established that in case of uniformity of color discreteness of channels at red illumination is most clearly visible. Matrix and tape devices for automatic phenotyping of seeds have been developed, which preserve the accuracy of individual measurement of geometric dimensions of sunflower seeds, determination of their shape and color, which corresponds to modern measuring instruments, and provides low complexity and high manufacturability of phenotyping procedure (identification, identification and separation), as a selection material, according to its morphological and marker features.
