The purpose of the work is to create, study and submit to the State Variety Testing of Ukraine highly productive selection lines of membranous and naked spring barley with waxy starch with a yield of 7-8 t / ha, adapted to growing conditions in the Northern Forest-Steppe and Polissya of Ukraine. Research methods: field and laboratory. Results. In 2019-2020, 112 combinations of parent components were hybridized. From hybrid populations, 8,000 elite plants were selected for study in the selection nursery, promising selection lines of membranous and naked spring barley with waxy starch were selected, as well as the most valuable cultivars in control and competitive nurseries to continue their study.
