Estimation of the lower limit of palaeocryogenesis and stages of its development in the Pleistocene of Ukraine, the impact on the engineering and geological properties of sediments, the formation of the erosion network, soil cover, etc. Research methods: field - lithostratigraphic, palaeopedological, malacological, geomorphological; analysis, synthesis, generalization, etc. The main scientific results. According to the results obtained during the first stage of the project "State of knowledge on palaeocryogenesis in the Pleistocene loess-palaeosol sequences of Ukraine", the existing literature on the development of paleocryogenesis in Ukraine, including the estimation of the lower limit of permafrost, the southern boundary of the periglacial zone in Ukraine, the stages of development of palaeocryogenesis, etc. were analyzed. A reconnaissance route within Right-bank Ukraine was carried out, a number of new sections of the Pleistocene loess-soil series with developed palaeocryogenic structures were selected for further detailed study within the project. Practical value. The results of the first stage of research will form the basis for further stages of project research and will be used in the preparation of Bachelors and Masters in Geography and Earth Sciences. Two articles on periglacial topics were prepared and will be published in scientific journals of Ukraine, 3 abstracts of reports at the international conference, which will be indexed in the international Scopus database, were published by the project participants.
