The aim of the work was to study the processes of electrocatalytic and oxidative chemical destruction of contaminants in hospital effluents and to create a unified approach to the optimal organization of processes involving active oxygen-containing radicals (peroxene systems). Research methods – stationary and cyclic voltammetry, rotating disk electrode method, spectrophotometry in UV (ultraviolet) and visible areas, high performance liquid chromatography. A set of new experimental data on the general regularities of electrocatalytic and secondary chemical processes of destruction of hazardous components of hospital effluents, namely selected antiseptics, antibiotics and aromatic compounds, which are typical intermediates of their degradation has been obtained. Recommendations for the selection of the most effective electrocatalysts for direct electrochemical oxidation of pollutants and increasing of their efficiency by modifying; the concept of a unified approach to the optimal organization of the processes of destruction of components of hospital effluents proceeded in peroxene systems have been developed, and the main factors influencing their intensity and selectivity have been identified.
