The aim of the study is to develop an adequate finite element model for rolling reinforced composites based on an aluminum alloy using a steel nett as a reinforcing phase. Model verification by comparing simulation results with experimental rolling results. The subject of research is the regularities of deformation of expanded metal netting during rolling. Research methods - computer simulation in the QForm software environment and experimental rolling on a laboratory mill with force and temperature measurements. Requirements for the configuration of the reinforcing netting are formulated according to the following criteria: the minimum localization of stresses at the intersection of the nett threads, the resource of plastic properties, the ability to form a connection with the matrix, and specific gravity. A finite element model of rolling reinforced composites with a deformation degree of 20% based on an aluminum alloy using a steel nett as a reinforcing phase has been developed. We obtained laboratory samples rolled with degrees of deformation of 20, 30 and 40% on the basis of an aluminum alloy using expanded netting made of steel C10 (1.0301 according to EN 10277-2) as a reinforcing phase. The model was verified by comparing the simulation results with the experimental rolling results. The ability of composites to absorb impact energy is evaluated.
