Purpose: on the basis of improved selection and genetic methods to expand the gene pool of nightshade and pumpkin plant species with high adaptive potential and quality of vegetable products. A method of growing apomictic cucumber seeds (Cucumis sativus L.) was developed, which was used to create breeding-valuable parthenocarpic genotypes of cucumber, which exceeded by 63–98% the line-standards for plant productivity. A method for obtaining multi-marker mutant forms of tomato (L. esculentum Mill.) Has been developed, which allows to obtain multi-marker mutant lines for 4–5 generations (M4–5) as a starting material for selection. A method for obtaining mutant forms of tomato (L. esculentum Mill.) with male gene sterility has been developed, which allows to rapidly create maternal components of hybrids on a sterile basis (90–100%). During the period of 2016–2020, 9 lines were created and transferred to the NCGRRU, which have different genetic nature, yield in protected soil up to 12.5 kg/m2, in open ground up to 70 t/ha, vegetation period 99–106 days, stability to abiotic factors. On the basis of interspecific hybridization, an eggplant line was created and transferred to the NCGRRU, which differs in the period from the appearance of mass seedlings to the onset of technical ripeness of fruits up to 105 days, the productivity of one plant up to 1400 g/plant. In 2020, a new variety of Sontsedar tomato with a yield of 84 t/ha and a variety of sweet pepper Yazychok with a yield of 37.3 t/ha were created and submitted for state testing.
