The purpose of the work is to study the processes of destruction of amino acid molecules under the action of ionizing radiation, in particular, the formation of their fragments, finding the geometric and energy parameters of such a destructive process, establishing mechanisms and estimating the probability of breaking intramolecular bonds. Based on the obtained results, it will be possible to formulate recommendations for their therapeutic use. Research methods and experimental equipment - a complex of experimental (mass spectrometric) and theoretical studies of direct (single) and dissociative ionization of threonine amino acid molecules, which involves thorough identification of the main this molecule decay products under the action of electrons of both low (up to 100 eV) and high (11.5 MeV) energies, finding their mass to charge ratio and establishing their chemical composition. Experimental studies have been carried out by using monoenergetic electrons and modern methods of high-resolution mass spectrometry developed in the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory at the Department of Electron Processes and Elementary Interactions at the Institute of Electron Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Carrying out theoretical calculations using modern quantum-mechanical methods of the theory of density functional, optical potential, phase functions and corresponding computational programs has allowed one to determine the absolute values of electron ionization cross sections and ionization rates of molecule under study. The results obtained in the course of this project implementation, their analysis, identification and identification with the involvement of the data of modern theoretical methods and approaches enable one to create a qualitatively new pattern of the dynamics of the electron interaction with the above molecule.
