The developed information system is addressed to the producers of Antarctic measurements and observations, as well as specialists from related fields and the general scientific community. In particular, the system provides for the introduction of a flexible function of searching for data by metadata, forming "on the fly" data sampling according to search criteria set by the user, and their visualization depending on the data type with data separation by processing level. Another purpose of the system is to automate the download of Antarctic research data to global data centers. To achieve these goals, a study of the object of informatization - a resource of Ukrainian Antarctic research, identified the requirements of the scientific community to the functionality of the system, developed a concept of a modernized information system and a draft Terms of Reference for the relevant R&D action.
