Antioxidants were used to stabilize the properties of pitchtermoplast under thermal exposure and to increase resistance to aggressive environments. Solid carbon foams of a given structure with improved morphological characteristics were obtained by foaming pitchtermoplast in the presence of a chemical blowing agent. There were developed recommendations for the basic stabilization of pitch composite and technological instructions for foaming modified coal pitch to create carbon foam composites.
