A conductivity sensor with a chemosensitive membrane based on 25,27-di(3-methylsulfidopropoxy)calixarene-tetrakis-methylenebisphosphonic acid for detection of arginine in aqueous solutions was developed and investigated. It was found that silica gels modified with calixarenes with four diphenylphosphine oxide or diisopropylphosphonate groups on the upper rim of the macrocycle effectively (95% - 99%) sorb Eu (III) from nitric acid solutions. A method for the synthesis of calixarenes with chiral fragments of 2-diphenyl (thio) -phosphineferocenes on the lower rim of the macrocycle, which are effective catalysts for the Suzuki-Miaura cross-connection reaction, has been developed.
