It was found that during fatigue tests under conditions of pure bending, the effect of liquid metal embrittlement was fixed on all investigated materials. For steel of austenitic class Х18Н10Т the embrittlement effect in lead melt is weaker than for ferritic and ferrito-martensitic steels. The eutectic melt significantly reduces the fatigue properties of steels. At the temperature of 350 ° C and an amplitude of deformation of 1% in lead there is a decrease in the number of cycles to failure compared to the vacuum medium by 4 times, while in the eutectic lead-bismuth - by 8 times. Differences in the mechanisms of deformation of near-surface layers in the adsorption-active medium are established. It is shown that in the medium of liquid lead in comparison with vacuum there is an accelerated depletion of plasticity in the near-surface layers, which contributes to the formation of a large number of microcracks. In the future, under the action of the melt, the growth of one main crack is realized, which causes accelerated transgranular destruction. For steels of ferrite and ferrito-martensitic grade (SUH 409L and 20Cr13 respectively) at a temperature of 350 ° С and a deformation amplitude of 1% in lead and eutectic medium, the number of cycles to failure is reduced by an order of magnitude compared to vacuum medium.
