The efficiency of its work depends on the parameters of the power supply system, taking into account the following shortcomings, namely, indicators of the quality of electricity in the network, uninterrupted power supply, and so on. This situation can be improved through the use of autonomous power systems based on renewable energy sources (RES). The influence degree of such systems on the level of power supply stability was determined on the basis of an analysis result of the possibility of building a local power system based on the load schedules of the real traction substation (taking into account the type and capacity of RES in the appropriate climatic conditions) A mathematical model for estimating electricity needs and load behavior (ie consumption level) over time was developed, which allows estimating the real possibilities of using RES while ensuring the proper quality of electricity supply. It is established that for the devices of control of the railway movement demanding maintenance of high reliability of power supply, the solar systems equipped with means of the accumulation of solar energy are the most acceptable. The dependencies, which allow determining the optimal characteristics of the panels of autonomous solar stations taking into account the capacity of the storage system and the level of electricity consumption by the railway traffic control system, are obtained.
