The purpose of the work is to develop scientific and technical support for the modernization of the aerodynamic deorbiting system for use on the upper stage of “Cyclone-1M” launch vehicle. Research methods: mathematical modeling, systems analysis, systems design, space flight mechanics. The analysis of aerodynamic deorbiting systems of the upper stages of launch vehicles has been carried out. Based on the analysis of aerodynamic deorbiting systems of different designs, it has been found that for the upper stage of the "Cyclone-1M" launch vehicle the most appropriate is to develop an inflatable aerodynamic deorbiting system. To reduce the influence of space factors and increase the reliability of the inflatable aerodynamic deorbiting system, a design scheme of a new aerodynamic element of the aerodynamic deorbiting system of the upper-stage of the "Cyclone-1M" launch vehicle has been developed. A feature of the design of the new aerodynamic inflatable deorbiting system is the ability to provide the maximum average of aerodynamic element mid-section area which is perpendicular to the dynamic flow of the atmosphere during non-orientated angular motion. It has been determined that the limit of effective usage of the new inflatable aerodynamic system for circular orbits is the range of altitudes up to 800 km, and for elliptical ones – 1250 km. The design scheme of the device for storage of an inflatable aerodynamic deorbiting system has been developed. Working documentation and technology to create a container for storage of aerodynamic deorbiting system using honneycomb technologies have been developed.
